The artist’s formed work convey his doodles into three dimensions in stretched canvas over intricate plywood helps, with uniform functions of untamed, expressive shade.
What a Reduction celebrates SCAD MOA’s latest everlasting assortment acquisition of Sperling’s Untitled (2021), a jaunty, Memphis Milano–type abstraction of advanced interlocking canvases. The work is joined by different latest varieties, executed in jubilant, energetic geometries. Sperling additionally premieres his most important foray into furnishings design, putting new benches within the foyer area. Created in response to the museum’s architectural options, the benches reimagine the artist’s iconic wall-mounted items into purposeful areas of respite.
