This previous weekend I used to be an invited artist at

the Colours of Spring fifth Annual NYBG Plein Air Invitational with James Gurney.

What a beautiful day and expertise! I’d joined James and this proficient group of painters for the 4th Invitational in 2019, and it was so good to be again on the New York Botanical Gardens to rejoice spring once more, three years later.

As we have been working within the flowers, there was a bunch of dancers from Trainor Dance performing. I couldn’t resist making a drawing of them transferring among the many lilacs.

It was like a fantasy – and the aroma solely improved the sensory expertise  –
